FEATURES & BENEFITS
HOME & BUSINESS OPTIONS
The survey considers parking, cable routes, electrical capacity, vehicle charging limits and permissions. Options can include tethered or socketed units and compatible load management; available features depend on the selected equipment.
Charging speed depends on both the charger and vehicle, supply capacity and any load limits. Solar-only charging also depends on available surplus generation. No fixed charging time or saving is promised.
For business premises, review staff, visitor or fleet use, user access and possible future expansion. Billing, maintenance and network services depend on the selected solution and should be confirmed in the quotation.
EV CHARGER GRANTS & FUNDING
SEAI provides up to €300 towards eligible home charger purchase and installation. Only registered smart chargers qualify; works must use a Safe Electric Registered Electrical Contractor. You do not need to own an EV to apply. Previous charger funding at the MPRN can prevent eligibility.
Apply before expenditure or works and follow the offer’s six-month completion and claim period. Off-street parking is the normal route; apartment and unusual parking arrangements require the relevant permissions and scheme checks.
SEAI has a separate Apartment Charging Grant for eligible shared developments. Applications involve the management body and a registered Charge Point Operator. Funding depends on applicant type, eligible costs and caps. A home-charger grant should not be assumed to cover communal infrastructure.
Do not assume the domestic €300 grant applies to a workplace charger. Check current business programmes and eligible equipment tax relief. The availability of a scheme does not confirm E-Solar participates in that scheme or acts as a Charge Point Operator.
THE INSTALLATION PROCESS
Review parking, electrical supply, preferred charger position and any property permissions.
Choose compatible equipment and confirm grant eligibility before ordering or starting eligible works.
Install safely, complete electrical testing and documentation, then demonstrate charging controls and scheduling.

Good questions. Clear answers.
Many homes can accommodate an EV charger, but parking arrangements, electrical capacity, cable routes and permissions need to be assessed. A survey helps identify a suitable charger position and any electrical work required.
No. An EV charger can use electricity from your normal supply. Solar panels are an optional addition, and compatible charging equipment may also use available surplus solar generation.
.
Yes, where the system and charger are compatible. Solar-aware charging can adjust charging to use available surplus generation. The amount supplied by solar depends on the weather, panel output, household demand and when your car is plugged in.
Charging speed depends on the charger, your vehicle’s charging capability and the available electricity supply. Load management may also reduce charging power when other appliances are in use. We assess these factors rather than promising a fixed charging time.
A tethered charger has a charging cable permanently attached, making it convenient for regular use. A socketed charger requires a compatible cable to be connected for each session. The best choice depends on your vehicle, parking layout and preferences.
Load management adjusts the power available to your charger according to demand elsewhere in the property. This can help keep total demand within the installation’s designed limits. Availability and operation depend on the selected equipment and electrical assessment.
SEAI offers support for eligible home charger installations. Charger eligibility, property conditions and installation requirements apply, and works must not begin before the permitted start date on the grant offer. Check current SEAI guidance before purchasing or starting work.
Yes. We can discuss charging requirements for staff, visitors or business vehicles. The assessment considers parking, electrical capacity, access arrangements and future expansion. Features such as billing, user management and ongoing network services depend on the proposed solution.
