Solar energy for your Home & Business
Generate electricity, reduce operating costs and take the next step towards renewable energy for your business.
REASONS TO GO SOLAR
An array designed around operating hours can supply part of your business demand directly.
Explore suitable roofs on offices, shops, warehouses, industrial buildings and other premises.
Assess solar alongside future EV charging, storage and changes in site demand.
BENEFITS & FINANCIAL CASE
We review consumption, operating hours and site constraints to develop a property-specific proposal. The business case should distinguish avoided import costs, eligible export income, capital costs, maintenance, grants, VAT treatment and financing.
Illustrative arithmetic: 10,000 kWh consumed on site instead of imported at €0.25/kWh avoids €2,500 of import cost. This is not a forecast. Actual returns depend on generation and demand matching; fixed charges and other costs remain.
A registered, grid-connected solar system does not normally operate through a power cut. Storage and backup require an appropriately designed system; do not assume solar alone provides backup.
COMMERCIAL & INDUSTRIAL SUPPORT
SEAI’s Non-Domestic Microgen Grant currently offers an effective 45% support rate, up to €325,200, for new applications in the temporary window 6th October 2026 – 6th July 2027.
Payment is the lower of the application grant value and 45% of invoiced cost. Size bands and a 1,000 kWp support limit apply.
Businesses and eligible non-domestic organisations can apply. Obtain a grant offer before work starts and meet the registered-contractor, grid-connection and completion requirements. Existing offers are not automatically uplifted.
Eligible SMEs may explore Government-backed Growth and Sustainability loans. Finance is repayable and subject to lender approval; it is not available automatically to every industrial applicant. Ask your tax adviser about qualifying equipment and Accelerated Capital Allowance.
THE INSTALLATION PROCESS
Review premises, roofs, consumption data and operational requirements with the team.
Consider system size, connection requirements, financial assumptions, grants and a written quotation.
Agree access and scheduling, complete approved works, test the system and explain monitoring and aftercare.
Good questions. Clear answers.
Solar can suit many commercial properties, particularly those using electricity during daylight hours. Suitability depends on your roof, electricity demand, operating hours, ownership arrangements and connection requirements. A site assessment helps establish whether an installation makes practical and financial sense.
Yes. We welcome enquiries about schools, farms and other non-domestic properties, as well as commercial premises. Each project needs an assessment of the building, electricity use and relevant funding route. Our project portfolio includes examples of different property types.
We consider electricity consumption, daytime demand, available roof area and electrical infrastructure. Where available, interval consumption data helps show how closely solar generation could match your usage. Future changes, such as fleet charging or expansion, can also inform the design.
The assessment considers electricity used on site, potential export income, installation cost and relevant ongoing costs. Grants, VAT treatment and financing can also affect the business case. Any projected savings or payback should clearly state the assumptions used.
SEAI’s Non-Domestic Microgen Grant supports eligible solar PV installations for businesses and other qualifying organisations. Support depends on the current scheme rules and proposed system. A grant offer must be received before works begin; eligibility should be checked before committing to the installation.
The level of disruption depends on roof access, electrical works and how your premises operate. We discuss access, scheduling and any anticipated shutdown requirements during planning, so these can be considered before installation arrangements are agreed.
hat depends on when your business uses electricity and how much surplus solar generation is available. A business with strong daytime demand may use much of its generation directly. Storage needs a separate assessment of tariffs, usable capacity, controls and additional cost.
Recent electricity bills, operating hours and any available consumption data are useful. Let us know about roof ownership or lease arrangements, planned building works and future electricity demand. We can identify any further information needed during the consultation.
